TES: Boost for summer borns

Plans to change national tests to take account of pupils’ exact ages are being considered by ministers after research confirmed the disadvantage suffered by summer-born children.

An analysis of test results from all state school pupils in England by the Institute of Fiscal Studies revealed that the difference in performance between September and August-born children is still significant at the age of 18. http://www.tes.co.uk/2450443.
