Primary school children to learn about personal finance

26/10/2007

Report on Ridgeway Primary in Staffordshire – one of a number of schools that have set up school banks (with help from HSBC’s schools liaison manager) to teach young children about personal finance.

This week a new five-year national campaign - What Money Means – will be launched in primary schools, run by the Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg), an educational charity and HSBC bank. A new survey to accompany the launch suggests that children have a surprisingly good attitude to money - 76% are already saving. For more information or resources see: www.pfeg.org.
