OCN Teaching and Delivering Literacy - Language and Numeracy in the Context of Finance
OCN Qualification – Teaching and Delivering LLN in the Context of Finance
We have developed two OCN accredited qualifications for Skills for Life practitioners and those working in the field of teaching or delivering literacy, language and numeracy. These cover the topic of ‘Teaching & Delivering Literacy, Language & Numeracy in the context of finance’. There is Level 2 which takes 10 hours and a more in-depth Level 3, which takes 30 hours.
Both are about how tutors can embed financial literacy into their existing teaching. They cover why finance is an important context for the delivery of literacy, language and numeracy and the issues this causes for SfL practitioners, what existing resources there are and how these can be used within tutors’ own sessions. Further details of the qualifications can be found below.
It is our understanding that time spent on these qualification can be used to count toward the new compulsory 30 hours of CPD required for practioners.
For those organisations who have already expressed an interest, a list of FAQs about the funded training sessions for Skills for Life practitioners in England can be found below.
We are currently unable to provide any further funded sessions before April 2008. However we may be able to provide some support to organisations who wish to deliver the qualification using their own tutors.
